Ebay

The funnest thing that I found for sale on eBay was you could pay $1000.00 dollars for a 40 year old women to do a photo shoot that was an hour long. She said on the site that some of her pictures had sold for over $10,00o dollars. In the picture they show of her she looks to be a lot older then a age of 40, and she gives measurements of herself. In the picture provided all you can see is her face and the tops of her shoulders. Therefor you really cant tell if she really fits all the measurements. You also have to pay for the travel of her to come to the place where the photo shoot will be taking place. The funny thing at the end of the description it says "some fettish ok." I just thought this was a really weird add to have on eBay.

Once

I really liked the movie Once. The music in it was really good and I think it helped tie a lot of things together. I liked the plot of the movie it kind of looked like it was going to be predictable but in the end it wasn't. The part I like most was that it seemed like they where going to start dating each other, but they take a sudden turn and they both end up trying to pursue her husband and he decides to go see his ex girlfriend. The movie was really touching on how it tells you to live life to the fullest and do what you really want to do in life and try to pursue it as best as you can. The movies we watched throughout the semester was a really good idea. I liked how it gave us a break from the writing part, and most of the movies tied in or had something to do with what was going on in the class. I think that you showed the right amount of movies though. I think anymore would have been just to much. It was just a good mix to throw into the class schedule. Also, I think the movie selection was done well and none of them where boring.

Hockey Stick

My favorite childhood toy was the first hockey stick my Dad ever bought me. It was an Easton Titan it was red and black with a straight blade. When my Dad first handed me the stick I was in Ah, I didn't know what to say or do. When he cut the stick down to the right length for me i taped it up and went out into the drive way and started shooting pucks. The reason for me wanting a hockey stick at the time was I always watched professional hockey games with my Dad on T.V. I remember every single game I told him I wanted to be like the guys on the ice. So I think his way of trying to make me feel like I was on the ice with them was him buying me the hockey stick. A year later I joined the local ice hockey league in town, and got to use my stick in a real life situation and I loved it. I still remember that first day of hockey practice when I was 3. Still today I have the Easton Titan in my garage at home.

The Office

The show I would convince you to watch would be The Office. The Office has many great qualities to offer, it has great humor and also a great story line. If you are looking for a good laugh from a long day at work this would be the show to do the trick. The show is about a group of people in the office setting at work. They have a boss that is not very smart and always puts his own input into everything people do during the day, and he most likely ends up making himself look like a fool. Also, during the show they have many office meetings that end up in mayhem or just lots of humor. So if you are looking to watch a funny show after a long day at work or the office I would recommend watching the sitcom The Office.

Emotion

One of the most extreme emotions I have every felt was when our hockey team beat St. Cloud Cathedral with 16 seconds left in the third period. The whole entire game was back an forth for the most part, but they ended up out shooting us by about 12 shots. The reasoning for the great emotion though is because with the victory we won the conference. In the third period we ended up with a face off in our end of the ice with about 25 seconds left. Our coach told us just to tie are man up after the draw and do what we can to eat the puck in the corner and shoot for overtime. On the face off we won it cleanly and got a break up the ice. My friend Nick ended up getting an edge on there defencemen and got a good angle shot of and he scored. Right when I saw the puck go in the net and Nick's hand flew in the air the biggest rush of emotions and energy hit me and our team stormed the ice and we all piled up in the corner. I had never had such a good feeling hit me in my life like that one did. I think the reason for it being such a good feeling was we where the under dog in the game and know one expected us to win. When that buzzer sounded at the end of the game there wasn't one person from our team and our fan that didn't have to biggest smile on there face. I believe that is my greatest happy emotion I have ever had.

Advertising

Advertisement does not play a big role in my life. I really don't pay much attention to commercials newspaper adds or any forms of advertisement. There are some though that tend to catch my eye and spark and interest to me. Some advertisements that catch my eyes tend to be ones that are related to up coming sports games or sporting equipment. Most advertisements that I end up liking come from Gatorade. Most of there ads are sports based and show clips of sporting highlights or athletes just being active. I would say my all time favorite commercial would be when ESPN does there ultimate highlight commercial where it shows all the big sports highlights from the past week or month and they pack it all into little short clips of what happened. They always have a catchy music playing while it plays. So for the most part unless the advertisement has something to do with sports I'm generally not interested.

Obama King Jr.

After reading the to arguments I realized that they both had a lot in common. They where both very well composed. They both had very good arguments about the racism and segregation problems we have in the United States. I believe that's Obama's Speech was done better then Mr. King's. Obama had more points from both side of the argument; where King Jr. just had better view points from the black community, and it seemed to me in some parts of his it was just a little to one sided. They both had there different view points though because of the different time periods. Back when King Jr. was around the racism and segregation was a much bigger deal. So it was a bigger problem and it affected more people.
I also liked how they discussed the racism in there own different ways. Obama tied in his election campaign. Where King was addressing the public about his concern with the racism threat. I believe that the weakest point of Obamas speech was that he was apologising a lot and bringing his campaign into the argument. Where I feel that Kings argument was more one sided on how bad the current state of racism and prejudice was a terrible, but don't get me wrong it was he just didn't take both sides into the argument enough.

Spring Break

Over spring break he just layed around and watched TV for the most part. Except at night he hung out with some of his friends that are still in high school. They attended a few movies as a group, and they went to Eric Merz's house to play Texas Hold em poker and played dice for a while. On Wednesday he went down to the University of Minnesota to visit his girlfriend and they made omelets and watched a movie. Friday night Eric Merz and him went to St. Olaf to visit there friend Eric Sandberg. While at St.Olaf they celebrated the St. Patrick's day festivities, and went to a dance club and had a good time. Saturday night he went back down to school with Angie to hang out with some of his friends that had not gone home for spring break and they all watched a movie together.

A Modest Proposal

After reading this short story I was a little confused. His proposal of poor people having too many kids was quite strange. He wanted to take the poor children and they could be distributed as food for people to buy. He thought this would make a lot of the towns/kingdoms problems go away. If they where to eat the kids he said that people wouldn’t go starving anymore, and people would be able to make money of selling plump children. Also, by his solution he thought that is would free up space in the town and it would provide more jobs for the rich. It would also keep poor beggars of the streets in the town. I personally disagree with his proposal. I think that there would better solutions out there, other than to eat poor children. They could enforce a law on how many kids you are allowed to have, or they could make it illegal to have children before marriage.

Go Further.

I thought the documentary was done very well. I really liked the point of view they put into the movie. They had very eye opening information such as how milk had blood and puss in it. I thought it was really cool how they made all their food and clothes from organic material or organic food. The avocado chocolate cake looked very good and I wanted to try it. It was really cool how Woody Allen and his friend biked the entire way to San Francisco from where they started. I think that they proved there point to viewers by how they were trying to stay healthy and eat healthy with all their great activities. They proved that they were working on saving the earth in a unique way with all the different events they held at colleges. They even picked up a girl and brought her on the tour with them, and she took part in all the activities they took part it. She really thought it made an impact on her life, her skin cleared up and she felt healthier as a person. In the end the documentary really made me think about what I was eating and how I could make some changes on how to live a more healthier life and reduce damage on the environment.

my name

I was named after my dad's grandpa his name was Joseph also. There is no real reasons behind it, it just was given to me in memory of him. My middle name Walter was given to me in memory of my grandpa's brother Walter who died from cancer when we was 57. According to one website defining my name; it means Joseph god will increase, another sites meaning is god shell add. The origin of the name Joseph is Hebrew. In Hebrew The meaning of the name Joseph is: May Jehovah. St Joseph of Arimathea undertook the burial of Jesus. In the bible Joseph was sold by his brothers into slavery and later rose to become a supreme power in Egypt.

Learned?Concerns?

Some things that I learned from researching my topic where: I found how to use more sources then just the internet. I also learned how to site my research better and more efficant. Finally, I learned how to find better information about my topic along with more indepth information. Some concerns I still have for my papers would be that I'm working on making it all fit into the 3 to 4 pages. Lastly, I'm working on choosing what resources best fit my topic and which ones provide the best information.

Bitter Cold

When it is bitter cold outside it has a few affect on my every day life. For istance, Istead of walking to the library to study for an exam I will stay back and study in my dorm room. I tend to wake up earlyer and shower sooner so my hair dries before I step outside. When it's not even tolerable outside I won't even go to the outdoor hockey rink and skate, becuase your face and ears will just get to cold. When I walk to classes on these cold days I wear extra layers of clothes and a stocking cap. Every once and a while if it's just to cold I may just stay in and not go to class, but thats only happened once.

Song about me.

One of my favorite songs is Best rapper alive by Lil Wayne. The reason for this song being one of my favorites is it reminds me of my high school hockey career. Our team would listen to this song at least a half dozen times before we would hit the ice for warm ups. The song itself is about Lil Wayne being the best rapper alive and no one else can stop him. As a team we thought this song could represent us to help us have a winning record. After warm ups of every home game we would listen to the song one last time before we hit the ice for the game. As the season began we started off with a 7-0 record. Everything was going how we wanted to. Eventually things didn’t go our way and we ended the season with a 17-5 record. Funny thing is in the last playoff game we played a kid on our team brought a new cd with. The song best rapper alive was not on the cd. This upset many people on our team, and we ended up losing the game. I’m not saying we lost the game because we didn’t get to listen to our team song but it’s always a possibility. My senior year the song was pretty outdated by then. I still had it as my ritual. Before every game that year I would listen to that song on my iPod before I hit the ice. I don’t know if it worked but it definitely gave me more motivation to work my tail off from start to finish. That season we didn’t end up with as good of a record as the year before. I still think that song pushed me to give the extra effort and paid off in games when I needed that burst of extra energy.

Favorite place

My favorite place to be is any hockey rink. I have a great passion for the sport of hockey. Hockey rinks have a distict smell as soon as you set foot in them, and there is no way of comparing that smell. Over the years I have come to meet many new people and friends while being at hockey rinks. I also have taken part in activities and practicing, playing games and reffing while being in a hockey rink. There also has been many great memories such as winning the confrence championship game, and sad moments loosing in playoffs to end your high school hockey season.
